I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and shucking some corn and it was just so beautiful and full of vibrant colors, I had to take a picture of it! Then the Lord began to speak to me and led me to ponder on it more this morning.
When I first seen the corn, I selfishly thought about the harvest of financial wealth. However, upon meditating this morning I seen something else. Corn was a crop God used to bring unity to the Native Americans and the early settlers. “Unity” is the song of the corn. A harvest is of crops are confined in a field and ironically so in unity! But, what about the labors? Jesus said.” the harvest is plenty but the labors are few”. Why are the laborsfew? It’s because they are not in unity! The labors are scattered over doctrines and beliefs while the harvest of lost souls are in unity. Even division has a way of becoming one, of being in one accord. Look at the tower of Babel or even the protest of today! Wow! All of creation is waiting on the son’s and daughter’s to be made manifest but it isn’t the harvest it’s waiting on but the labors. Labors are splitting hairs over the small matters instead of harvesting the increase of the fields. If they are not gathering, they are scattering. Gathering involves bringing it all together-unity!
The Indians used the husk of the corn for shoes as well. I’m scripture in Ephesians 6 the shoes are representations of peace!!! Peace=unity!
The crop was used as money in trade therefore it was a staple, also bringing peace to their resources and the ability to expand provision. Our abundant life is directly related to the harvest. And in the harvest is unity. Without unity, I’m convinced we have no harvest! Scripture says, the wealth of the sinners is stored up for the righteous. What is that exactly? It’s the crops of people who need to be pulled out of the ground(world) and into a bushel (the kingdom of God). There is the “Lord of the Harvest” using the sickle of the cross!
Once rooted out the world’s systems, GOD will then pull back the husk of the flesh and reveal the sweet golden seeds that were once planted long ago! Sow peace among one another because that’s what brings abundance.
Even a corn has an Ear to hear and its seeds are always in alignment! Unity is the song of the corn! Unity is the song of the harvest! -2017 Michele Minguzzi
